Day 5 - Theodore Roosevelt National Park

It was 48 at 6:15 when we got up to hit the trail to North Dakota.  It was a pleasant drive - mostly grasslands intermixed with sunflower fields and corn fields.

We owe so much to Theodore Roosevelt, our biggest presidential conservationist.  He established more national parks than any other president.  The park created in his name is certainly beautiful, and serene. We only explored the south loop. Spent the night at the campground here.  The most memorable picture is of the wild horses on top of the mountain.  You couldn't help but wonder where the Indians and buffalo were (which we did see a lot of buffalo).
