Day 12 - The Columbia River Valley, Washington

The Magellan put us on an interstate route up to Wenatchee.  When we drove through Grant County, we saw a sign that said "Potato Capital of the Nation".  And we believe it.  Wenatchee is crowned the "Apple Capital of the World" and we believe it.  Everywhere you look are orchards - apples, cherries, peaches, pears....all kinds of produce and vegetables.  Stopped at a fruit stand to get some stuff.  I never saw so many variety of beans....who has ever heard of orca beans?  They are colored like the orca whales. The scenery is semi-arrid flatlands and canyons along the Columbia River.  Staying the night at Lake Chelan State Park.  A little disappointed in it.  In the picture, I know it's dark, but the green you see on the side of the mountains are orchards.
