Our plan was to catch the ferry to Orcas Island, until we got internet reception and saw that the round trip fare would be in the neighborhood of $200. So instead re-routed and went to Whidbey Island, which is connected via bridge on the north and the Pt. Townsend ferry to the south.
Found a really fun state park - Deception State Park. It was called this because the Spanish explorer didn't realize he was looking at an island when he discovered it - hence, deceived. You can smell the Pacific Ocean - but it is so clean, clear, turquoise in color. They have about 4 tides a day here and it really whips in and around the little islands.
Went on a few trails and saw some of the sights.
