We made a stopover at a really nice state park that we've enjoyed before - Homolovi, which is outside of Winslow, Arizona. Yep, you can just start singing that song! We did our best to teach it to the grands, and they did enjoy "Standing on the Corner!"

It's a Girl My Lord in a Flatbed Ford!

The State Park has 2 ruins that you can drive two, take a short hike and look around. You will find lots of pottery on the ground if you look. The kids also earned Junior Ranger badges from the park!
The next day we made it to the highlight of the whole trip - the Grand Canyon! We parked at Jacobs Lake, Kaibab Camper Village so we could enjoy their full hookups. Plus the national park has the campground closed. It was priceless to see Aiden and Lucy's faces when they first glanced into the canyon!

Thanks Teddy for creating the park! |

Looking down on the river. There are also Indian ruins on the bank, which is hard to see without binoculars.

The North Rim was not crowded at all. We didn't see any park rangers out and about. There were no programs. We got the kid's Junior Ranger books and badges from the General Store. Working on these books is like going back to school. They spent several hours learning and discussing things! We had great neighbor kids in the campground our 2nd night. I think it was Sandlot 2 happening! You could sure tell Aiden and Lucy have missed baseball and softball this year!
I'm not sure why, but many folks that used to get automatic emails aren't getting them anymore. You may need to resubscribe.
Next up! Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks!
What an adventure for both you and the grandkids! They probably don't appreciate Winslow as much as you but they had to love the Grand Canyon!
